Welcome to our sheep farm home hospitality!

Our home hospitality concept revolves around the bounty of our farm. All the meat served comes from our own sheep, and we pride ourselves on utilizing every part of the animal to its fullest extent. Because of this, our dinner guests can expect to be served dishes featuring ingredients that may seem rare and unusual to modern people, but at the same time offering a delightful surprise with the taste of these unique delicacies.

As our guest, you will savor these old, traditional dishes, thoughtfully enhanced with a touch of modern ingredients. Each meal is a testament to the resilience and ingenuity of the Faroese people, offering you a taste of our history and a glimpse into our way of life.

Since the lambing season ends at the end of May, the ewe-sheep and lambs in the Faroe Islands usually head up to the mountains to graze for the summer. This means we don't see as many sheep in the villages during this time of year. However, the rams (breeders) are grazing in a field just outside the farmhouse, and your visit will wrap up with a delightful activity: The feeding of the rams!

Join us for an unforgettable experience, where the past and present converge on your plate, and let us share with you the rich flavors and stories of the Faroe Islands.

We look forward to welcoming you!

Welcome to a guided walk with local storytelling and a “drekkamunn” in the farmhouse!

Begin your journey with us from our farmhouse, where convenient parking is available. We will introduce you to the charming village of Selatrað before we set off towards “Rossatrøðin” (the Horsefield), a short 10-minute walk from the farmhouse. Historically, this land was used for grazing horses, hence its name (Ross means Horse). Today, it serves as summer pasture for some of our sheep that require extra care.

Rossatrøðin is steeped in Faroese cultural history and has a significant connection to the Faroese justice system. This site was once the location of an outdoor local court. During our tour, we will share fascinating stories and show you antiquities that played vital roles in these historical narratives.

After the walk, we'll return to the farmhouse to enjoy a cup of coffee, tea, or soda, accompanied by delicious homemade cake. This delightful tradition is known in Faroese as "ein drekkamunn," a distinct Faroese term for a cozy coffee break with homebaked treats.
The visit will wrap up with a delightful activity: feeding the rams who are grazing just outside the farmhouse.

We look forward to welcome you on our farm :)

Experience an authentic workday on the sheepfarm!

Discover the ways in which you can make a tribute to a typical workday on a traditional faroese sheepfarm. The tasks can vary and are determined by the weather. One task is typically the repairing and readjusting of fences up in the mountain and outfields. After the long winter period and severe weather conditions, the fens’s become weak and even are broken in some points.

Another task can be helping with the hay-making, or shearing the sheep.

Of course we need food in order to perform on such a day, so we´ll prepare a choice of traditional faroese appetizers, mainly with ingredients, that are an outcome from our farm and local area. The meal consists of the classical faroese bread with cold cuts, and faroese traditional ingredients.

Depending on the weather, we´ll enjoy the meal outside in the nature or at the sheepfarm residence.

Let’s get to work! :)
